Good afternoon,
We had a great day at school today! We started a new chapter in math class. We began Chapter 3: Multiplication today. We started practicing our multiplication facts a few weeks ago. Head over to my link for mathematics to check out some pages where your child can practice his/her multiplication facts. Learning these facts will help your child be successful in mathematics this year.
In reading we are reviewing reading skills that we have already covered. Today we reviewed how to find the main idea of a passage. We will spend some more time tomorrow practicing this skill. We will also work on cause and effect. Next week we will start our second story in theme 2, Coyote School News. Remember to have your child read 20 minutes each night.
In Science we will begin learning about plant and animal cells. We will discuss how different parts of the cell help the animal and/or plant survive and meet its needs.
We are also working on setting up a fish tank in our classroom. (Pictures will be posted soon).
We love fourth grade! Enjoy the cooler temperatures.
